Either use the method I told you, or don't play mods online (because there is no other way at this time). What Gameranger does is run the game directly, perhaps there are ways to change the "shortcut" that gameranger uses to run the game so that you could modpath that way. İlk olarak Gr3atsaga tarafından gönderildi: ![]() As it is, this is the only way to run the mods. There's nothing bad about this method at all, and it allows you to run mods - not my fault if you choose not to use it. You could even use a compression software to archive and compress the backed up data to make it take up slighly less space. Make two copies of the data folder, one that acts as a backup and one that acts as a vanilla data folder to quickly switch to if you want to play vanilla. That being said, the method is entirely easy. The servers were run by the company "Gamespy" and they recently shut down. I'd love to play BF2 again online.İlk olarak Winxomatique tarafından gönderildi:yeah, but if i want to play a differente mod after that i have to paste the copy from foc and the same thing again, their's no best way, like the steam version for mods ? i mean it a lot more easy. And WHY THE HELL STEAM CLOSE THE SERVER IT WAS RUNNING PERFECLY FINE ? I'll look again and see where I read where the program still is running in task manager. ![]() They say their working on a patch to enable people to get back into "that" game. They shut down all the servers, and even my retail BF2142 won't even let me play offline single player mode. I've got the retail BF2 vanilla and wanted to see how I could play it. It's a lot like Hamachi, but with a public server browser. Tons of people use it and you're the first person I've seen ever have any issue with it. GameRanger is pretty damn reliable, just look at the Battlefront 2 forum page here on Steam. It's fake, they just want to have you buy their "virus cleaner" product. The kind of call you got has been a thing for years, they just get your number from phone books and websites you've signed up at and call you hoping to trick you by showing you how your computer has viruses when they remote access it. I've never received any phone calls after setting up my account. ![]() Originally posted by iBoba Fett:GameRanger doesn't run in the background, unless you just never exit out of it. And those two things I learned about it, happened within the same day, around 2 hours apart. So now I'm really leary about gameranger. End result? Just an imposter on the phone, nothing more. Thinking now on install (gameranger) that I've got a keylogger. Now I figure he's hacked my email account just to get my contact phone number, and thinks I'm going to give him "remote access" to my computer? So he can further hack and maybe find some more information he thinks I would leave on my desktop? Nobody has my phone number at home. Really? That's ok, I'll fix it myself since I have a minor in computer programming, and hang up on him. I say really? And this brief time I'm wondering how this clown got my home phone number. And when I downloaded it about 5 days ago, and installed it? After registering it, and leaving my email? Some smart asshat actually calls me at home, tries to impersonate an employee from "Microsoft". I've read that this program runs in the background "always". I've read some really strange stuff about Gameranger.
